Position
Profile:
The QA Analyst will work with the systems
analyst and development teams to create
and execute comprehensive test plans for
specific functions within development projects.
This will be accomplished through a thorough
understanding of the user requirements and
functional specifications for assigned projects.
Specific responsibilities include:
Systems
integration, regression and unit testing,
with and without automation. This includes
testing of web functions, PL/SQL procedures,
background batch processes, data files,
letters and reports.
Writing
and executing test plans and test cases
(positive & negative)
using data from the business requirements
and software specifications as the basis
for testing product design, software programming
and systems integration.
Use
of SQL and Access in querying the database
to identify useable test data and verify
results
Create
test data for use in testing of electronic,
GUI and web processes
WinRunner
testing of application processes
Write
defect reports and perform thorough follow-up
testing
Keeping
current with requirement changes during
development phases
Ensuring
test documentation is current and complete
Reporting
to QA management on work status
Participation
in design walkthroughs
Candidate Profile:
Requirements include a bachelor's degree
in Computer Science or equivalent work experience,
at least 4 years experience as a QA Analyst
or Programmer/Analyst and strong systems
analysis, communication, organizational,
and writing skills. Specific technical competence
includes:
Experience
with creation of test data for use in testing
electronic, GUI and web processes
Ability
to translate technical requirements from
system specifications into clearly written
test documentation
WinRunner
scripting/testing or other automation testing
experience preferred
Financial
Aid/Loan Origination software testing or
related experience preferred
In-depth
knowledge of Access
and SQL queries
Testing
experience with an automated testing tool
is a plus
Familiarity
with programming languages, such as VB,
C, .NET and PL/SQL
Strong
PC skills and proficiency in MS Word and
Excel and use of common browsers
